Individuals applying to volunteer with the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office must go through a thorough selection process.
Convicted felons or individuals with recent drug use cannot be considered as volunteers.
All applicants are required to have a high school diploma or GED.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age (21 years of age for Patrol and Corrections Deputy positions.)
For all positions, applicants are required to successfully complete prior to hire:
- written examination, including basic computer skills
- integrity interview
- oral board interview
- background investigation
- medical exam
- drug testing
In addition to the above requirements some positions may also require
- polygraph examination
- psychological evaluation
