How to have Papers Served
Papers are accepted between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday except holidays.
Items required for service:
- A completed Civil Process Information Form (click the link to access this form)
- Two copies of the papers you would like served.
- Pre-payment of fees. Payment can be made by check or money order, made payable to the Larimer County Sheriff's Office. Refer to the Fees Schedule/Mileage chart.
The Larimer County Sheriff's Office will provide:
A Return of Service. This will notify you if the service was successful and will serve as a proof of service for the courts.
The Return of Service will tell you the name of the person served, the and time of service and the address where service was made.
If the services was unsuccessful the Return of Service will provide an explanation such as moved, no such address or address not in Larimer County.
If service was unsuccessful you may be due a partial refund. You will receive your refund 4-6 weeks after receiving your Return of Service.
