Explorer Post 909

LCSO Explorer Post 909 is designed for youths between the ages of 15 1/2  and 20 years old.  The post gives youth the opportunity to learn more about careers in law enforcement.  Explorer Post 909 has been in existence approximately 20 years, and they are active with Learning for Life, and LEEPAAC (Law Enforcement Explorer Post Advisors Association of Colorado).  Post 909 volunteers approximately 4000 hours per year at various events.

Besides learning about law enforcement, Post 909 also has an emphasis on the following skills: leadership, networking, communication, and team building.  Currently Post 909 is limited to 20 members, and they recruit and train new explorers in the fall.  The cost to be a member of Post 909 is $30 dollars annually.  This cost covers the Learning for Life charter, and membership in LEEPAAC.  All explorers are issued a Class A uniform with felt campaign hat, a Class B uniform, and a training polo.
