The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office offers a variety of entry level employment opportunities.

Applications for Patrol Deputy, Corrections Deputy, Emergency Communications Operator and Jail Services Specialist are NO LONGER accepted on an ongoing basis.  All job announcements will now be posted as needed via the above links.  When you create an applicant profile, you can also create a job agent that will send you email notifications when a job that your are interested in has been posted.

Individuals applying for employment with the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office must go through a thorough pre-employment selection process.

Convicted felons or individuals with recent drug use cannot be considered for employment.

All applicants are required to have a high school diploma or GED.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age (21 years of age for Patrol and Corrections Deputy positions.)

For all positions, applicants are required to successfully complete prior to hire:

  • written examination, including basic computer skills
  • integrity interview
  • oral board interview
  • background investigation
  • medical exam
  • drug testing

In addition to the above requirements some positions may also require

  • typing test
  • simulator test
  • polygraph examination
  • psychological evaluation
  • physical fitness test (applicable to all deputy positions) - A signed Physical Fitness Testing Waiver (click to open) is required to participate in the testing.

Physical fitness requirements are a 1.5 mile run in 15:54 or less, 300 meter sprint in 66 seconds or less, 25 or more push-ups in one minute, 30 or more sit-ups in one minute.
