The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office offers a variety of entry level employment opportunities.
Detailed information, including job descriptions, the hiring process and the online application  can be found at: Larimer County Sheriff's Office Employment Opportunities.  To apply for a job with our agency, you must complete the Larimer County online application.  Access to the application is found at Larimer County Current Job Openings.  Applications for Patrol Deputy, Corrections Deputy (Detention Deputy), Emergency Communications Operator and Jail Services Specialist (Detention Services Specialist) are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Individuals applying for employment with the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office must go through a thorough pre-employment selection process.

Convicted felons or individuals with recent drug use cannot be considered for employment.

All applicants are required to have a high school diploma or GED.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age (21 years of age for Patrol and Corrections Deputy positions.)

For all positions, applicants are required to successfully complete prior to hire:

  • written examination, including basic computer skills
  • integrity interview
  • oral board interview
  • background investigation
  • medical exam
  • drug testing

In addition to the above requirements some positions may also require

  • typing test
  • simulator test
  • polygraph examination
  • psychological evaluation
