Captain Timothy Palmer has been serving the citizens of Larimer County for over 28 years. He currently serves as the Division Commander of the Larimer County Jail. He is also the Chief Firearms Instructor for the Larimer County Sheriff's Office.
Tim began his law enforcement career in 1981 working for the Albany County Sheriff's Office in Laramie, Wyoming. In 1983, he was hired as a patrol deputy with the Larimer County Sheriff's Office. During his tenure with Larimer County, he has worked in the patrol and investigations divisions. Prior to his current appointment, Tim worked as a Lieutenant managing security and traffic for the Larimer County Fairgrounds and The Ranch facilities.
Timothy Palmer is a graduate of the Northwestern University Center of Public Safety's School of Police Staff and Command and the recipient of the Franklin M. Kreml Leadership Award. This award is given to one member of each graduating class for showing outstanding leadership qualities. He is currently furthering his education at Colorado State University in the field of Organizational Leadership.
