Wendy Vita Hart, DOB: 032055, has been identified as the shooter in a domestic incident that occurred at 1300 Cherry Avenue in Loveland, Colorado on February 12, 2012. This incident resulted in the death of her boyfriend Jeffery Buckley. Ms. Hart called 911 at approximately 9:44 p.m. on February 12 to report the shooting.

Larimer County Sheriff's Sergeant Marc Weber was awarded the Explorer Post Advisor Leader of the Year for 2011 from the Cache La Poudre District of the Longs Peak Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Weber received the award at the Boy Scout's annual award ceremony held recently. Sergeant Weber has led the Larimer County Sheriff's Office Explorer Post 909 for the past 14 years.

Larimer County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to the 1300-block of Webster Avenue at 6:26 a.m. Sunday morning on the report of a car fire. Upon arrival, the car was fully engulfed in flames. Poudre Fire Authority responded and extinguished the fire.

Larimer County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to the 1300-block of Cherry Avenue in Loveland, in unincorporated Larimer County, at 9:44 p.m. last night after a female called 911 to report a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a 51-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his upper torso. The male was immediately transported to the Medical Center of the Rockies where he was later pronounced dead.

The Larimer County Dive Rescue Team (LCDRT) is currently accepting applications for volunteers to join our team. With the upcoming spring season almost upon us, the Dive Rescue Team is in need of individuals wanting to become rescue swimmers and divers. Swift-water training classes are being scheduled now for the upcoming months. This training provides members with the skills and knowledge to help out the community in a way that is both rewarding and enjoyable.

The Larimer County Sheriff's Office is continuing to see regular reports of metal theft. In the last six weeks alone, there have been seven reports of metal theft. In the last six months of 2011, a total of 16 metal thefts were reported. While all types of metals have been stolen, copper seems to be the primary target.

Larimer County Sheriff's deputies were called to Motel 9 at 3634 East Mulberry Street in Fort Collins yesterday at 3:23 p.m. on the report that a 43-year-old blind Fort Collins man had been cut. Upon arrival the male was bleeding profusely and was immediately transported to Medical Center of the Rockies with non-life threatening injuries. His condition is unknown.

The Northern Colorado Financial Crimes Task Force is currently investigating a significant identity theft and fraud case which has occurred in Northern Colorado. The case was initiated by the Larimer County Sheriff's Office and through a close working relationship with Denver US Postal Inspectors, it has been determined that a number of residences in the area of Northwest Fort Collins, Rist Canyon, and Stove Prairie may have had their mail stolen. With personal information obtained through the stolen mail, suspects are believed to have produced fraudulent financial and identification documents in the victims'names.

The Larimer County Sheriff's Office has scheduled the spring session of its now semiannual Citizens Academy for March 27, 2012 through June 19, 2012. The weekly class, held in the evening, is limited in size to 35 participants on a first come-first served basis. The deadline for applications is March 16, 2012. There is a $25 fee to cover the cost of an academy tee shirt and lunch during the field day.
