Two Fatalities in Boating Incident

Larimer County Sheriff's Office deputies, Emergency Services and the Larimer County Dive Rescue team were called to assist the Loveland Police Department last night at 9:49 p.m. on the report of two missing boaters in the 700-block of South Railroad Avenue in Loveland. Loveland Police, Fire and Dive Rescue responded to the initial call which was later determined to be within the county's jurisdiction.
A 69-year-old male and a 37-year-old male, both of LaSalle, Colorado, were pulled from the water by Loveland Dive Rescue and transported to the hospital. Both men were later pronounced dead.
A boy (10 to 13 years of age) was rescued from an island in the pond. He was treated on scene by medical personnel and was subsequently transported to a local hospital. His condition is unknown.
Initial reports indicate that the three were fishing when their boat overturned. Larimer County Sheriff's Office investigators are continuing to investigate the incident.
The identities of the men as well as the cause and manner of their death will be determined by the Larimer County Coroner.
Berthoud Dive Rescue also assisted with the incident.
